Core Groups
There are the Core Groups which look after key areas of the church and each is convened by a Deacon.
Admin, Publicity and PR
Responsible for the church website, church magazine, notice sheets, notice boards, office facilities and advertising the church’s present. Activities have included creating policies for managing hall letting and notice boards, maintaining and updating the website.
Building
Looks after matters relating to the building which include maintenance and refurbishment. Recent work has included upgrading the downstairs kitchen.
Children and Young People
This group manages activities for the younger members of the church and organises the creche, Sunday school, Youth Home Group and C3YI, a youth group for young teens which meets twice a month providing an informal opportunity for young people to meet and chat and enjoy Christian music amongst other activities.
Finance and Stewardship
Responsible for managing the finance and stewardship matters of the church including budget planning.
Home Groups and Social Events Group
Manages and organises the three home groups in the church together with planning and organising events such as Church Away Days. Social events such as hillwalks, barbeques and games evenings along with the occasional ceilidh are organised throughout the year.
Pastoral
This groups looks after the pastoral care of the membership including the deacons visiting each member throughout the year.
Missionary Group
The Mission Core Group encourages the fellowship to develop its Christian
life and witness. It has responsibilities for evangelism, local city centre
outreach and overseas mission. It also arranges Alpha and similar courses.
The Church is an active supporter of selected missionary organisations and
individuals at home and abroad including: Bethany Christian Trust; BMS World
Mission; Lynne Brown of BMS World Mission who develops pre-school activities
in Angola and Pastor Krupa Emmanuel of the Anurag Ministries working amongst
the children of Mumbai in India.
Worship and Planning
This group is responsible for arranging and developing all aspects of our worship and music and assists all those who are leading Sunday worship and any special services. The group helps to encourage and support those who have the gift of music.
Each group has approximately six members representative from the membership.
