Crown Terrace Baptist Church 2022

A Christian Community in the City Centre Seeking to Make Christ Known

Visitor Information

Jesus welcomes us just as we are; whoever we are; wherever we have come from and with whatever life experiences we may have had, so we welcome you.  If you have not been to a church service before you may be wondering what goes on or perhaps you are curious as to how Crown Terrace Baptist Church compares with others.  We trust the following will give you some idea.

How do I find your church?
By bus: get off on Union Street by the Music Hall, or at Bridge Street/Union Terrace; then follow directions for 'on foot'.
On foot:
from Union Street, opposite the Music Hall, turn into Crown Street, after 200m turn left into Crown Terrace and just a few metres along on the left is Windmill Lane and the church is located on the corner facing you.
By car: for your Sat-Nav, our postcode is AB11 6HE.
Check us out on Google Maps here.

How easy is it to park?
As we are a city centre church, parking is available on street for free until 1pm on a Sunday.  There is also off street parking available nearby (South College Street, Golden Square or Trinity Centre).

Is there disabled access?
Yes.  We have a stairlift available to take people from the main entrance to Sanctuary level (about eight steps). We also have an accessible toilet.

What time is your service?
Our service starts at 11am and lasts for approximately one hour.

What happens when I arrive?
You will be met with a friendly welcome at the door and given a noticesheet which has the order of service and other information.
You may sit wherever you like in the Sanctuary.  We have no reserved seats.

What is the service like?
Our Sunday morning services last for about an hour and is a mix of traditional and modern worship.
Communion is included in the service twice a month (usually on the first and third Sundays) and is open to all who love Jesus.  The last Sunday of the month is usually more informal.

Do I have to contribute to the offering?
No!  The offering is voluntary, but it is one of the ways that members and regular attendees contribute to the life and work of the church.

What should I wear?
There is no dress code.  You can wear whatever you are comfortable with.  Some people like to dress more informally, others prefer the formal look (though it would be unusual to see a hat during the service!).  Come as you are!

Is there anything provided for children or teenagers?
Yes, we welcome young people of all ages.  They stay in for the early part of the service where we all worship together for the first 15-20 minutes.  Then they leave for the age appropriate activities - a creche for those of pre-school age or a group for school age children.  On the last Sunday of the month, and during the holiday periods, other activities are provided for use during the service.

What happens when the service finishes?
You are free to leave, but there is complimentary tea and coffee available in the Church lounge.

If you have questions we have not answered, please email us at the address below.

Finally, we hope you will feel welcome at Crown Terrace Baptist Church and to all the activities that take place here!
